The New & Limited Edition Official Hwa Rang Do® Rosewood Danbong
This unique Danbong is made from Rose Wood, one of the densest woods in the world, which is imported from the Islands of Southeast Asia and handcrafted in Costa Rica. This ancient device is a signature Hwa Rang Do® weapon, and was used in ancient times by Buddhist monks both as a drumming instrument and convertly utilized to defend themselves, using it for striking, joint manipulation, takedowns and throws.
Especially interesting is that two Danbongs may also be tied together by the string at the end of each, to make a very familiar weapon -- the Ssang Jyel Bong or "Nunchuku" in Japanese.
In modern application, learning to utilize the Danbong also gives you the ability to use any object similar in size, such as a remote control, stick, rod, etc. as a very effective weapon for self-defense.
